And a few lines about the history of the model...
W123 designates the executive line of cars, manufactured by Mercedes-Benz between 1976 and 1985.
It succeeded the W114 and became the most successful selling Mercedes-Benz model up to that point, with approximately 2.7 million units sold worldwide.
Mercedes-Benz offered the model in several variations: W123 four-door version and the most common, C123 luxurious coupé, V123 limousine, chassis-only F123, the estate/station wagon S123, and as a convertible. A variety of engines were offered, from 2-liter inline-4 petrol to a 3-liter turbodiesel.
The first-ever factory-built estate, S123, was introduced at the 1977 IAA in Frankfurt. S123 production began in April 1978 at the Mercedes-Benz Bremen factory.
The 3-liter turbocharged 5-cylinder engine was introduced in September 1979 in the 300TD Turbo diesel wagon and was offered with automatic transmission only and limited to the 300TD in most markets.
The Mercedes-Benz OM617 engine produced 125 hp @ 4,350 rpm and 184 lb⋅ft @ 2,400 rpm. It was regarded as one of the most reliable engines of its time.
